About the Team

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Public Works team. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance crew, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment to maintain and improve the city's roadways, sidewalks, and other public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, such as dump trucks, excavators, and asphalt pavers, to perform construction and maintenance tasks
  • Pour and finish concrete, sweep streets, and clean storm drain pipes
  • Perform grading for site preparation and haul materials, such as stone, dirt, and gravel
  • Assist in pouring concrete for stormwater structures and construct and repair ditches, swales, and open drainage channels
  • Mow rights-of-way, trim trees and shrubs, and operate light automotive and mechanical equipment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimal experience in operating motorized equipment preferred
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Restriction 8 and Tanker endorsement within three months of hire
  • Basic Work Zone Safety and Flagger certifications within 12 months of hire

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $50,000-$65,000, depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
