Behavioral Health Milieu Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Milieu Technician to join our team at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health diagnoses and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign collection, temperature, weight, height, and other patient data as required.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges, including completing inventory and searching of personal belongings.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, communicating observations of the environment and patient indicators to the team.
- Support visitation guidelines and policies as established by the unit and hospital.
- May be assigned to role of patient observation based on unit need.
- Identify unit/patient needs, report and resolve potential/actual escalations on the unit.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living, including feeding, personal care, and ambulating.
- Transport patients and assist with procedural holds as directed by the MD, Provider, and/or primary nurse.
- Associate degree required with a minimum of six months direct patient or client care experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR in adult, child, and infant required upon hire.
- Certification specifically surrounding nonviolent/trauma-informed intervention training required within 3 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- High School diploma, GED equivalent, or higher level of education that would require a High School diploma and 3 years of experience in a Mental Health-related field.
