Restaurant Manager Job Description

At Rib Crib BBQ, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing direction and support to hourly employees, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide training and guidance to employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and implement operational standards to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Assist the General Manager in recruitment, selection, promotion, employee relations, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate the preparation, cooking, and packaging of food orders as needed.
  • Monitor food cost and quality controls, reducing waste through proper use of purchasing, receiving, storage, preparation, food labeling, and rotation procedures.
  • Record and analyze cash flow, movement of inventory, labor costs, and cost of sales on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Administer the Progressive Discipline Policy according to guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of previous management experience in a full-service establishment.
  • Knowledge of back-of-house and front-of-house operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient use of restaurant equipment, including calculators, cash registers, computers, ovens, smokers, and knives.
Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalency as determined by management.

Certifications and Licenses:

Food Service Manager Certificate and completion of the M.I.T. Program.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Position requires standing for most of the workday, with frequent walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, cutting, carrying, kneeling, or stooping.
  • Work involves frequent periods of lifting up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds.
Working Conditions:

Position is in a climate-controlled establishment, with exposure to temperature extremes as necessary for food preservation and preparation.
