About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Videographer and Photographer to join our team at the National Transportation Safety Board. As a key member of our Digital Services Division, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual content to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of visual information projects to communicate agency messaging.
  • Serve as videographer and photographer for internal and external agency events, including investigation launches.
  • Collaborate with project managers, program managers, and other stakeholders to develop a mutual understanding of the objectives of video and still photography usage for product development.
  • Launch as a member of the Go-Team for SRC, capturing video and still photos of the launch and investigative activity, in consultation with the Investigator-In-Charge (IIC), providing technical support for press briefings and press conferences, ensuring that press briefings are recorded, edited, and posted to the agency video channel.

  • Due to the unusual nature of NTSB's mission, the incumbent of this position will be required to be available for assignment 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • The incumbent will occasionally solo travel to capture video and still photos to support NTSB Board Members and Investigative staff of all transportation modes during accidents launches, while on-scene or at headquarters
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to lift 100 pounds
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state issued Driver's License
  • The incumbent must be available for occasional deployment to transportation accident sites, which may include exposure to long hours in austere environments
  • The incumbent may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions and other environmental discomforts, unforgiving topography, and debris hazards while deployed to transportation accident sites
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL:

  • You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector)
  • Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Operating audiovisual equipment to provide support to organizational events
  • Maintaining a diversified range of audiovisual equipment
  • Providing video streaming support for various organizations
  • Performing a variety of duties associated with video productions
  • Experience using industry-standard software to create professional audiovisual products, and using music libraries, stock footage, and postproduction services, to acquire the elements needed for an audiovisual production
  • Experience managing the set-up and operations of audiovisual recording equipment
