Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team at General Dynamics NASSCO. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for the operation of the warehouse and logistic operations, ensuring that materials are received, stored, and shipped efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Receipt and Inspection: Accurately conduct receipt inspection of all inbound material requisitioned along with required documentation.
  • Inventory Management: Properly stage all inbound and outbound material in its proper locations, and accurately mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Order Fulfillment: Assemble customer orders and place orders on pallets and relocate orders to a holding or shipping area.
  • Inventory Control: Accurately and efficiently pull requested material and prepare material transfer document and process and submit associated paperwork.
  • Warehouse Operations: Operate both forklifts, sit down and stand up, and load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely.
  • Transportation Coordination: Knowledgeable of various means of transportation and associated documentation requirements, i.e., LTL, flatbed, UPS, Fed-Ex, dedicated shipments.
  • Inventory Cycle Counting: Assist in counting physical inventory, and process all items being returned for replacement or credit.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Conduct inventory, control, and coordinate the transfer of tools and equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team in keeping site safe and in clean conditions, reporting any required maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education: AA/AS plus two (2) years directly related experience or High School Graduate equivalent plus four (4) years of shipyard related experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of ship repair methods and procedures, OSHA regulations regarding industrial lift equipment safety and training, vehicle codes, and hazardous material handling requirements.
  • Experience: Experience with identifying problem areas and initiating corrective action, warehouse receiving and security, transportation facilitation, and providing quality service to a wide range of customer requirements.
  • Soft Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, proficient use of Microsoft Office products, and ability to work well with others.
Accountability
  • Delivering Materials: Delivering materials on time, to the correct location, and free from damage.
  • Coordinating Materials: Coordinating materials from the entry point in the yard to final delivery to the customer.
  • Recycling: For recycling as much as possible the regular waste generated by the department.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $20.77-$27.66, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. Additionally, we offer paid vacation, accrued at 2.31 hours for every week worked, seven paid holidays, and one personal day per year. Team members participating in a 401(k) retirement plan will receive a 6% match on a 6% enrollment election. We also offer tuition and training reimbursement.
