At ISO New England, we're at the forefront of the region's transition to clean energy. Our team is responsible for predictive modeling and data analytics that span both short-term and long-term time horizons.

The successful candidate will collaborate with our forecasting staff in developing software and automated processes in support of various load forecast activities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing data pipelines
  • Conducting descriptive and/or predictive statistical analysis
  • Developing new code and performing review and refactoring of existing code
  • Performing research to gain domain knowledge required for project(s)

This position will support the candidate's pursuit of a meaningful, dynamic career within the energy sector.

The forecast group in System Planning uses data science to gain insights at the intersection of climate, public policy, and the electric power system.

The candidate will get a first-hand opportunity to work in a friendly and fast-paced team setting, learning and developing tools to help the ISO plan and operate the evolving grid.

We're looking for a talented individual who enjoys coding and building automated processes, with familiarity with Python, R, or Matlab. Experience performing statistical analysis of large data sets is also required.

Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills are essential, as well as familiarity in applying AI or statistical modeling for time series forecasting, particularly in energy sector applications.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are also necessary.

To be eligible for the internship, the candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four-year or graduate-level academic program.

Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
