Key Responsibilities:- Mowing, weeding, raking, and trimming hedges to uphold the beauty of the facility's landscape.
- Utilizing equipment such as lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and clippers safely and effectively.
- Maintaining lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds to promote a healthy environment.
- Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
- Possession of a valid New York State Driver's license.
- Prior experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance is preferred.
- Engagement in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Frequent interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Potential for extended working hours as needed.
- Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to make independent decisions in various situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with diverse individuals.
- Self-starter with minimal need for direct supervision.
- Capability to move throughout the workday and perform physical tasks.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in English clearly.
- Ability to manage the physical demands of the role.
- Must possess adequate sight and hearing, with or without prosthetics, to fulfill job requirements.
- Emotional stability and good general health are essential.
- Ability to relate to and work with individuals in various emotional states.
- Capacity to lift, push, pull, and move at least fifty (50) pounds.
- Willingness to assist in the evacuation of residents when necessary.
