About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Designer to join our team at Barge Design Solutions, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for a variety of bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design solutions for bridge projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness of drawings and documents.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Plan and present complex design features to clients and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and project understanding.
  • Provide seasoned recommendations for design problems and solutions, leveraging expertise and knowledge to drive project success.
  • Communicate with clients regarding project progress and attend client meetings to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
  • Review and critique drawings, providing quality checks on others' work and ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Prepare cost and quantity estimates, perform design calculations, and may act as project lead for design work.
  • Mentor less experienced designers and engineers, offering advice and knowledge to drive professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying, or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience, or other relevant combination of education and/or experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
  • Resourcefulness and initiative to perform projects, with a focus on timeliness, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to project issues that arise.
