About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Structures Bridge Team Lead to join our Southern States Market team at WSP. As a Technical Excellence Center Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of structural engineers and professionals to deliver high-quality projects to our clients.

Your Impact
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships with new and existing clients in the area.
  • Maintain a strong focus on business development and marketing for both new and existing clients.
  • Drive performance of the business, strategically grow our market share and become a preferred provider to our clients.
  • Attract and recruit structural professionals to grow and strengthen the bridge practice.

As a recognized leader in the local community, you will be responsible for mentoring staff to support their growth and professional development. You will also manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff, while remaining current in the latest structural engineering techniques and practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, structural/civil and infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineer license required (multi-state preferred). Must be able to obtain a North Carolina license (reciprocity) within 6 months of employment.
  • Highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes.
  • Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice.
  • Commitment to internal and external client service.
  • Understanding of the role and all end market sectors within the A/E/C industry.
  • Motivational; staff development mindset; excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills.
  • Budget management / enterprise business aptitude.
