We are looking for a meticulous Scheduling Coordinator to enhance our operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is crucial in managing patient appointments and overseeing precertification processes, ensuring that all necessary protocols are adhered to for optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage with referring physician offices to collect clinical data, confirm and intake patient insurance information, and manage precertification and authorization workflows.
  2. Oversee precertification tasks by accurately gathering and inputting insurance details into the system.
  3. Utilize the Insurance Eligibility Verification system and provide clear explanations of the process to patients.
  4. Communicate with insurance providers to confirm benefits and coverage for patients.
  5. Gather essential insurance data for procedure precertification.
  6. Coordinate patient appointments in accordance with departmental policies and guidelines.
  7. Request and obtain medical records and pathology reports from various healthcare facilities as necessary.
  8. Maintain precise patient history and appointment records by entering data into the computer system.
  9. Distribute copies of the daily departmental schedule to relevant teams.
  10. Collect and record co-pays and deductibles in the financial system following established cash collection procedures.
  11. Efficiently process all requests for medical records.
  12. Recognize and address the unique needs of the patient demographic, including age, culture, language, and other factors, ensuring effective communication and care.
  13. Comply with the standards outlined in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Required Skills & Experience
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to learn swiftly and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Two years of progressive experience in a medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of surgical coding (CPT and ICD-10) is advantageous.
Education
  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Language Proficiency

English (Speak, Read, Write)
