We are looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals to assist adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving self-sufficiency and personal growth. This is an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career in the healthcare and education sectors.

The Employment Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering on-site coaching and advocacy for individuals during both the intensive and follow-along phases of Supported Employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized on-site coaching for assigned caseloads.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, including SAP plans, case notes, monthly reports, and other necessary records.
  • Conduct observational assessments to aid individuals in mastering job-related tasks.
  • Facilitate travel training on public transportation and roadways.
  • Maintain comprehensive case files for each individual supported.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for relevant agencies on a monthly basis.
  • Act as a liaison among the individual supported, their family, and the employer.
  • Participate in staff meetings, Life Plans, conferences, and required training sessions.
  • Provide additional support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in providing vocational or pre-vocational services is preferred.
  • Completion of twenty-four (24) hours of OPWDD's Innovations in Employment Supports training within the first year of employment.
  • A clean and valid New York State driver's license is required.
