Power BI Developer, Specialty Consulting Expert

Due to our success and increased business opportunities, we are seeking a Power BI Developer to provide technical and analytical support within the Lockton Specialty Practices.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, possess the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and have the flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities.

Analyze data and support operational activities to provide stakeholders with information and insights essential for decision-making and solution development.

Serve as a go-to Power BI expert for Lockton specialty consulting teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements, utilizing complex DAX formulas.
  • Develop UAT guidelines & scripts.
  • Create and run testing processes & sign-off for go-live deployment.
  • Maintain dashboard security and access.

Requirements:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and requirements.
  • Employ automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from various sources, converting it into meaningful metrics.
  • Review and implement standardized data practices and hand offs from analysts and data engineering resources.
  • Run ad hoc report queries including detailed analysis and insight.
  • Integrate data from multiple data sources into relevant client reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Monitor the quality of data, perform data validation checks on various data sets, troubleshoot data-related issues, and resolve them timely to maintain data integrity.
  • Assist with designing enhanced reporting to meet the evolving client needs.
  • Continuous quality improvement on processes, policies, and reporting to improve efficiency and innovation.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience with Power BI required (DAX measures/queries, data modeling, star schema, row level security).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Power Query (M), Power Automate required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Excel required (VBA not required but helpful).

Additional Requirements:

  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst PL-300 Certification or equivalent knowledge highly preferred.
  • Effective ETL and data manipulation skills.
  • Alteryx Designer Core Certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, statistical methods, and data modeling a plus.
  • Data analysis experience in a healthcare brokerage environment or insurance carrier.
