Position Overview

As a vital member of the Development team at Joni and Friends, the Donor Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering relationships with our supporters. Under the guidance of the Donor Care Supervisor, this position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing donor satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Donor Engagement & Relationship Management
    1. Serve as the primary contact for donor inquiries related to contributions, order statuses, and annual summaries.
    2. Manage the Donor Care email correspondence, ensuring prompt and thorough responses to all inquiries.
    3. Assist in processing donations and constituent orders efficiently.
    4. Collaborate with the Logistics team to address and resolve any order-related concerns.
    5. Support the daily functions of the Donor Care team to improve donor interaction and loyalty.
  2. Administrative Support
    1. Help oversee the inventory of donor recognition materials, including acknowledgment letters and personalized thank-you notes.
    2. Maintain the integrity of donor data within the database system, rectifying any inaccuracies.
    3. Work alongside fellow Development team members to ensure donor records are consistently accurate and current.
    4. Assist in coordinating volunteer efforts for donor appreciation communications, including cards and calls.
  3. Additional Duties
    1. Undertake other tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
  • A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Joni and Friends.
  • A passion for serving within a dynamic Christian service organization.
  • Demonstrated success in customer service roles.
  • Experience with database management and general office operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong discernment in social interactions and discussions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet navigation.
  • Familiarity with Christian ministry, particularly the mission of Joni and Friends, is a plus.
