Job Summary:

Harnham is seeking a highly experienced Director of Bioinformatics to lead our team of bioinformaticians and data scientists. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and building a function that helps to drive our company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of bioinformaticians and data scientists while collaborating closely with lab scientists and engineers to build and maintain complex NGS pipelines.
  • Coordinate and encourage standardized coding best practices, lead and collaborate with team members on code reviews.
  • Develop algorithms and computational infrastructure for gene-editing applications, such as off-target analysis, guide selection, and determining editing outcomes.

Requirements:

  • PhD and seasoned experience in Bioinformatics.
  • At least six years of closely related bioinformatics industry experience with at least two years experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Expert level proficiency in Python and experience or a strong interest in working with cloud computing systems (e.g. AWS).
