About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Programmer 3 to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). As a key member of our research group, you will work closely with our Principal Investigator and Study Investigators to design and implement data analysis methods for various multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and design complex analyses applying novel computational methods
  • Manage the research group's server space, including the UCSF Wynton HPC cluster
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement data analysis pipelines
  • Develop and maintain software tools for data analysis and visualization
  • Provide technical support and training to research team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational programming, or related area
  • 3+ years of directly relevant programming experience
  • Experience with R and Python programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing and genotyping
  • Strong knowledge of genomics, bioinformatics, and computational algorithms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
