Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Pre-Anesthesia Clinic team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Bilingual LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their hospital stay.

Responsibilities:

Provide safe and effective direct care to patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing routine treatments.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel, enhancing professional growth and development.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, adhering to hospital standards.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement state.
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency.

Working Conditions:

Heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
Exposure to chemicals, biohazardous materials, and limited access to medication rooms.
