Job Summary

  • Collaborate with the Food Service Team to ensure that resident diets meet their nutritional needs.

  • Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to prevent illness and injury.

  • Dispose of food and waste properly to prevent contamination and maintain a clean environment.
  • Obtain food supplies for the next meal to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Stock storage areas and refrigerators with labeled food items to ensure easy identification and access.
  • Follow all safety regulations and facility policies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Participate in in-service trainings to stay up-to-date on the latest food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information at all times.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed to support the Food Service Team.

Requirements

Education / Licensure

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications / Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in food services is required.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare dietary department is preferred.

Cooking food in large quantities and following food procedures is essential.

Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required.

FOLLOWING oral and written instructions is crucial.

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a warm environment with possible interruptions.

Interaction with residents, families, and agencies is a key aspect of this position.

May be required to work beyond scheduled hours.

Subject to call back during emergency situations.

Assist in resident evacuations during emergencies.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move, push, pull, and lift objects of up to 25 pounds.

Ability to read fine print on labels and menus is essential.
