Job Title: Part-time Registered Nurse

We are seeking a talented Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Float Pool team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to work on various units within Adult Psychiatry, Adolescent Psychiatry, and Addiction departments.

About the Role:
  • Provide safe patient care at a basic level and demonstrate growth in caring for increasingly complex patients.
  • Manage care and implement treatment plans at a basic skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
  • Consistently provide safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care.
  • Serve as a resource, preceptor, and mentor while demonstrating leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
  • Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
  • Support and empower patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
  • Advocate for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues.
  • Anticipate ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and intervene to maximize patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
Requirements:
  • Two years Behavioral Health nursing experience required.
  • BSN or MSN. If Associates Degree RN, within 5 years of start date.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required (AHA) American Heart Association.
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
  • ACLS and NIHSS (or obtained within 4 weeks of start date).
