Join Our Team as a Critical Care Registered Nurse
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to become a vital part of our Critical Care Unit at Inova Health System. This position offers a full-time opportunity on the night shift, consisting of three 12-hour shifts.
Incentives:
$10,000 - $20,000 Sign-On Bonus
Relocation Assistance available for eligible candidates.
The Critical Care Unit is a specialized 24-bed facility focused on delivering exceptional care to patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment. Our patient population includes individuals recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries, as well as those experiencing severe heart conditions.
Our unit is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical care and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration among all team members. We prioritize psychological safety and encourage active participation in patient care.
Supportive Environment:
We ensure that our nursing staff receives the necessary support through:
- A Charge RN who remains off the staffing grid.
- A dedicated Resource Nurse on each shift to assist with patient admissions and provide educational support.
- Two clinical technicians and a mid-shifter available each shift to facilitate patient care and surgical cases.
Additionally, our unit features a dedicated Unit Educator who is committed to the professional development of each team member, guiding them from orientation through their career in critical care.
We recognize the importance of providing our nursing team with the resources and support they need to excel in caring for high-acuity patients. Our goal is to promote work-life balance while fostering an environment of growth, learning, and achievement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical RN experience in a Critical Care environment or completion of a Critical Care fellowship.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in Critical Care/Cardiovascular nursing.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
If you hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), you must complete your BSN within 24 months of your start date.
Certifications:
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification is required; ACLS certification is strongly preferred (must be obtained within the first three months).
- Must be licensed or eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor towards patients and colleagues.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
