Role Overview: We are seeking an Electrical/Automation Engineer to spearhead the design and execution of electrical and automation strategies aimed at elevating performance metrics in safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role is pivotal in driving the digital transformation within our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct feasibility studies and prototype development to identify optimal solutions based on cost-benefit analysis, timelines, and functional requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of projects focused on upgrading plant performance through the integration of modern technologies.
- Monitor and execute risk mitigation strategies, including simulations and testing.
- Establish and maintain best practices for automation design, ensuring global sharing of insights.
- Foster relationships with suppliers and contractors to support project objectives.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies in the automation sector.
- Deliver comprehensive electrical designs and automation programming for assigned initiatives.
- Provide technical estimates and timelines for equipment upgrades and installations.
- Support plant maintenance teams with training on newly implemented automation systems.
- Travel may be required, up to 30%, primarily within North America and occasionally to Europe.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
- Ability to independently set and achieve objectives.
- Proven success in collaborative team environments.
- Experience in developing and executing project plans that meet or exceed set expectations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
- Familiarity with electrical design standards and proficiency in CAD design tools.
- Knowledge of PLC programming standards, including GRAFCET and Ladder Logic, with experience in Rockwell and Siemens systems being advantageous.
- Experience with control systems networking and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control technologies.
- Experience in HMI configuration and programming.
Senior Level Additional Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar engineering role or 5-7 years in manufacturing maintenance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience in developing technical documentation for automation solutions.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex automation issues.
- Proven project management experience from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with advanced robotic technologies is a plus.
