Phlebotomy Support Technician

About the Role
CoxHealth, a leading healthcare system in Missouri, is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Support Technician to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Support Technician, you will be responsible for the collection and processing of blood and other specimens as directed. You will perform proper specimen collection by confirming patient ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling the specimens to ensure accurate patient results.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and process blood and other specimens as directed
- Perform proper specimen collection, including confirming patient ID and accurately labeling specimens
- Process specimens appropriately for subsequent testing
- Access, update information, and make corrections to orders as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- No prior experience required, but 6 months phlebotomy experience or 1 year related experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Proficient in using computers and computer systems
