Job Summary

Apogee Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Sr. System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement computer security programs to ensure the physical and logical security of our systems.
  • Ensure systems are operating within current security guidelines, with approved hardware and software, and up-to-date patches and version releases.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain system configurations of all hardware and software to ensure overall system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Implement required Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) NOTAMs and Mission Tasking Orders affecting the system baseline.
  • Utilize Vulnerability Management guidelines and conduct system scans to include Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) document results and initiate corrective actions.
  • Manage user accounts, firewalls, and patches, responsible for access control, passwords, and account creation and administration.
  • Oversee all system internal networks, including maintaining operating systems, applications, security tools, upgrade of software, associated hardware, and anti-virus.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues, analyze system logs, and identify potential issues with computer and network systems.
  • Perform system backups and recovery tasks, troubleshoot problems reported or from system analysis, and initiate actions to isolate issues, replace and upgrade defective or outdated components.
  • Maintain a network of virtual and physical machines, systems, and virtual servers, computers, firewalls, routers, managed switches, intrusion detection system, and the entire computer-based infrastructure.
  • Perform network address assignment and assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services and manage system accounts.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and be able to maintain it
  • High School Diploma
  • Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience; including eight (8) years of DoD experience
  • Advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline as a senior Test Engineer
  • Possess the ability to oversee and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level engineers
  • Have a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply systems and test engineering standards, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to the area of expertise
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines
  • Windows and RPM-based Linux distribution experience
  • Working understanding of Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • System Administration certifications based on DoD 8570 IAT
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience
  • Master's in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience

Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs CO - Building 2025

Hybrid

Telework capabilities for local candidates (percentage of telework allowed will vary based on the customer's discretion)

Travel

Travel may be required to CONUS locations (approx. 10%)

Benefits & Compensation

Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military, and jury duty paid leaves.

Regular part-time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.

The base pay for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 across the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training, and education.
