Job Responsibilities:The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
- Assessing the appropriateness of specimens for testing and requesting new specimens when necessary.
- Preparing specimens for analysis while ensuring the physiological integrity of the specimen properties is preserved.
- Selecting, executing, evaluating, and overseeing the performance of routine, non-routine, and specialized testing procedures using manual techniques and/or instruments in line with established protocols.
- Identifying and addressing indicators of malfunction, troubleshooting issues, and implementing necessary corrections.
- Evaluating the validity of data in relation to the testing system and assay procedures.
- Correlating quantitative, biochemical, physiological, and morphological data with other laboratory and patient data to confirm results.
- Conducting additional tests to clarify or validate abnormal patient results and reporting findings accordingly.
- Performing quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products while maintaining comprehensive records for all quality control reports.
- Calibrating, standardizing, adjusting, and maintaining laboratory instruments.
- Providing guidance on the appropriate course of action for abnormal or unusual results and observations.
- Collaborating with management to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and guidelines.
Second Shift - Options include either four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, with rotating weekends and holidays.
