Railroad Maintenance Specialist

At American Track, we're committed to building a sustainable and innovative railroad maintenance and construction team. As a Railroad Maintenance Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on rail tracks, including replacing ties, switches, and ballast
- Operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers and spike mauls, to maintain and repair rail tracks
- Install and repair signs on railroad crossings
- Align and slide track tie plates and cut rails to specified lengths
- Perform drilling activities for insertion of bolts or joints
- Remove brush and other vegetation from between rails
- Complete authorized repairs and document outcomes of all repair activities
- Lay and fix foundations for tracks, replace worn-out or rough rail ends, rebuild roadbeds, and lay new rail sections
- High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in the railroad or heavy construction industry preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and travel to various job sites, including those that require overnight stays
- Willingness to follow company and federal rules, policies, and procedures, and wear required safety equipment
