Role Overview

This position plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care through the Nursing Process, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The Registered Nurse is responsible for effectively delegating, guiding, and supporting both licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring accountability for high-quality patient outcomes while respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.

Educational Requirements

  • Required: Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Experience Requirements

  • Required: None

Certifications

  • Required: Current RN License in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer skills necessary for data entry and patient information retrieval.
  • Familiarity with Windows-style applications and relevant software packages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Nursing Process effectively in patient care delivery.
  • Assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies for diverse patient groups.
  • Communicate and manage nursing team resources effectively, serving as a leader within the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Leverage data and knowledge to promote change and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Foster concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and improve nursing practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

This role requires physical exertion, including frequently moving objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The demands of this position exceed those of sedentary work. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
