Role Responsibilities

The Director of Accounting will hold a pivotal leadership role within the global Corporate Accounting division at Worldpay. This position will initially focus on the following key areas:
  • Establish a global corporate accounting team, including:
    • Designing and defining requirements for Oracle system implementation, participating in the project team through the go-live phase.
    • Building and guiding the team through the transition of responsibilities from existing teams to the newly formed unit.
    • Creating processes to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Managing the close process related to operational expenditures and providing monthly analytical insights and commentary.
    • Overseeing balance sheet management to ensure reconciliations are completed in accordance with policy, accurately reflecting assets and liabilities.
    • Developing departmental strategies and objectives aligned with corporate goals to enhance customer-centric services.
    • Managing daily operations for the Corporate Accounting team, driving continuous improvements in the closing cycle and identifying opportunities to expedite the process.
    • Leading the team to proactively identify potential issues and formulate mitigation strategies.
    • Fostering strong collaborative relationships with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and business units to identify accruals and provide insights for monthly forecasting.
    • Engaging with both internal and external auditors to ensure consistent adherence to processes, policies, and controls.
    • Setting a standard of professional integrity, ensuring all accounting entries are accurate and compliant with GAAP.
    • Participating in and leading initiatives driven by Finance and Financial Operations.
    • Delivering monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to assess departmental performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Over 12 years of experience in leading Accounting and Finance teams.
  • Proven experience in managing an accounting team, including overseeing the closing cycle and reviewing complex journal entries.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide insightful analysis and commentary on monthly financial reports.
  • Capability to report month-end results, highlighting trends and variances.
  • In-depth knowledge of the accounting closing cycle and the ability to guide the team in meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
