Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nurse Extern to join our team at the University of Miami. As a Nurse Extern, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and gain valuable experience in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, as well as prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program.
  • Junior or senior year of nursing program.
  • In good standing with the School of Nursing.
  • Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
