Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, airway management, aerosol medication administration, chest physical therapy, and advanced oxygen therapy. The ideal candidate will have experience in respiratory therapy and possess a strong understanding of pulmonary function testing and electrocardiogram acquisition and management.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators
- Administer aerosol medications
- Perform chest physical therapy
- Conduct advanced oxygen therapy
- Acquire and analyze blood gas samples
- Perform pulmonary function testing
- Acquire and manage electrocardiograms
- Participate in code blue and rapid response situations
- Support neonatal resuscitation efforts at high-risk infant deliveries
- Transport ventilator patients
- Teach patients about respiratory care
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy (preferred)
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required)
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required) within 1 year of hire
7:00am - 7:00pm, with every third weekend and call requirements.
