Job Summary

The Procurement Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible for developing and leading sourcing strategies that deliver value, innovation, efficiency, and risk mitigation to Northwest Bank, in accordance with enterprise-wide business goals. This role will take the lead on executive level engagements, applying independent judgment, to negotiate contracts and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the functional sourcing strategy for procurement of third-party products and services, aligned with Northwest Bank business objectives
  • End-to-end responsibility for the scope of procurement sourcing governance, policy-setting, and ensuring compliance
  • Integrate procurement strategies into Northwest Bank's organization through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive cost savings, innovation, and sustainability in the supply chain
  • Collaborate closely with business units, spearheading teams towards developing immediate and longer-term sourcing plans through understanding of Northwest Bank's procurement needs and delivery requirements
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, service, performance, legal, and payment terms and conditions
  • Establish and manage relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and integrating new supply sources as required
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and business operations efficiencies
  • Manage partnerships and interactions with essential workstream functions such as IT, Finance, Legal, and Risk
  • Collaborate with business partners and their suppliers to continuously assess future state business needs
  • Enhance how stakeholders engage with Corporate Procurement - present a unified point of contact within the organization
  • Develop, monitor, and manage to key sourcing metrics (Risk Appetite Metrics, Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators) to track the effectiveness and impact of procurement initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to executive leadership
  • Deliver value through cost and process improvement initiatives to multiple business units in accordance with established targets
  • Lead a high-performance culture and ensure proper implementation of leading-edge procurement capabilities
  • Support key supplier relationships with the business, helping resolve issues and escalations as well as negotiating relationship-wide programs where applicable
  • Lead development of a formal program to manage critical supplier performance and relationships
  • Monitor and report on third-party spend, savings, and performance metrics
  • Support the implementation of our Procure to Pay system, Workday, across our Business Units that builds the capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability including standardizing supplier onboarding, requisitioning, approval workflow, purchase order issuance, spend analytics, and category management
  • Lead and manage a diverse team across multiple areas (Sourcing, Purchasing, Invoice Processing), fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and high performance
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the team, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and ensuring their professional growth and development
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain Management
  • 8-12 years of indirect sourcing experience in a highly regulated industry (financial services, insurance)
  • 8-12 years of specialization in software, cloud services, hardware, infrastructure, and professional services
  • 8-12 years of negotiation of technology and professional services contracts
  • 8-12 years of leadership and managerial experience
