Overview

As a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist at Vinebrook Technology, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the security and integrity of our clients' technological landscapes. Your key responsibilities will encompass the continuous monitoring and evaluation of security incidents, identifying potential vulnerabilities, proposing preventative measures against cyber threats, implementing robust security protocols, and responding effectively to security breaches. Your specialized knowledge will be essential in upholding a strong security framework for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Perform ongoing surveillance of security incidents.
  • Examine data and metrics to pinpoint unusual activities.
  • Proactively identify and address risks prior to any breaches.

Implementation and Maintenance of Security Measures:

  • Deploy, configure, and sustain security solutions across client infrastructures.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols and industry regulations.
  • Regularly refresh security applications and tools.

Incident Response Management:

  • Work in conjunction with our managed security service providers and internal teams to interpret alerts.
  • Execute necessary actions to promptly mitigate risks.

Development of Security Solutions and Policies:

  • Assist in crafting tailored information security strategies and policies to meet client needs.
  • Design and architect security solutions for client systems.

Vendor and MSSP Collaboration:

  • Engage in vendor and MSSP partnerships, including selection and evaluation processes.

Promotion of Security Best Practices:

  • Offer guidance on security best practices to clients.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma required; higher education strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications are highly regarded:
  • CISSP
  • CEH
  • ITIL 4 Foundation
  • CompTIA Security+

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in security analysis, incident management, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in customer support roles.
  • Background in 24/7 managed services or SaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with ITSM and monitoring toolsets.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional documentation and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic about technology, and eager to learn.
  • Proficient in managing online collaboration tools such as Office 365 or G Suite.
  • Experience administering Windows and Linux systems along with tools like Active Directory, SCOM, Satellite, and Puppet.
  • Ability to manage common network infrastructure, including switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of unified communications platforms is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles.
  • Capability to mentor and train Security and System Analysts.
