We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Alumni Communications to join our team at the University of Houston. As a key member of our Advancement department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage our alumni and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage communication materials, including proposals, stewardship reports, and publications.
- Serve as a liaison between the University Relations writing team and Development directors to ensure timely and accurate work.
- Provide editorial support for university-wide communication projects and provide general technical knowledge and experience in writing, editing, and communication.
- Coordinate work with a broad group of writers/editors and develop project management procedures and systems.
- Research, write, and edit funding proposals to support the university's highest priorities.
- Produce donor recognition reports, marketing documents, and publications progress reports.
- Work closely with other advancement communications departments and integrate efforts where possible.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong understanding of communication principles and practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with writing proposals and developing communication campaigns.
- Knowledge of the University of Houston's Advancement department and its goals.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of writers/editors.
