Job Description

Summary: The Associate Director, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to engage and support the law school's alumni community, with a focus on annual giving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, to create a multi-year plan for the alumni engagement program, with a focus on growth and increased alumni involvement.
  • Manage individual alumni and alumni groups, working to engage them in support of the law school's goals.
  • Foster engagement with a wide range of alumni through alumni chapters based on geography, practice area, ethnicity, and other defining affinities.
  • Encourage alumni involvement with student organizations and act as liaison between alumni chapters/groups and student organizations.
  • Maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, social media, alumni web pages, and print publications.
  • Support the Alumni Association Board of Directors by developing programming for the Alumni Association, including opportunities to assist in the admissions process, career networking needs, and community service opportunities.
  • Plan and execute various events for the Alumni Association and alumni affinity groups, in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Work with Student Services to educate graduating students about alumni benefits and how to remain involved with the law school after graduation.
  • Manage a reunion year giving program, in partnership with the Senior Director, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving.
  • Work with colleagues in Marketing and Communications to highlight and promote alumni to internal and external audiences.
  • Assist with updates and maintaining alumni data.
  • Respond appropriately to requests for information from alumni.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is desired, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in volunteer, fundraising, and/or event management.
  • Experience in an institution of higher education, or an environment of similar complexity, is preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, campuses, college employees, and the public.
  • High level of energy and capacity for extraordinary time and effort demands.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English, with the ability to interpret and explain complex data.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to students, alumni, faculty, and other employees of the organization.
