We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Music Therapist to join our team at Thom Child and Family Services. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments to identify client developmental status.
- Provide direct music-based services and activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
- Collaborate with families to develop Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and implement strategies to support child development.
- Document progress, assessments, and correspondence as required.
- Deliver individual and group music interventions to promote cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development in children from birth to three years old.
- Assess family and child strengths, concerns, and progress, and act as a service coordinator to ensure timely and effective intervention planning.
- Provide supportive professional assistance to families and facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child development.
- Board certification as a Registered Music Therapist.
- Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
- Ability to establish meaningful therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
- Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally sensitive services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
