As a key member of the senior management team, the Vice President of Finance will engage in the financial and operational decision-making processes essential for achieving the hospital's mission. This position requires relocation.

General Overview:

  • Experience and knowledge in Critical Access Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the financial operations of the facility, including accounting, budgeting, audits, taxation, and other financial planning activities; manage respective department heads.
  • Collaborate with system management to develop and implement policies, procedures, and both short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide financial leadership to hospital managers, directors, and officers to foster support, ownership of objectives, and active participation in impactful decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and requirements.
  • Contribute financial expertise in planning new services that generate profitable revenue streams.
  • Manage costs by identifying opportunities and eliminating non-value costs in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Analyze and promote organization-wide performance improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the hospital at various meetings, including those with medical staff and the Board of Directors.
  • Participate in monthly operational reviews and corporate meetings as necessary.
  • Lead the department/team in administrative functions, including budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations, and expense approvals.
  • Regular interaction and presentations to the Board.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience at the CFO level or equivalent within a Critical Access Hospital environment is required.
  • Experience in a non-profit setting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive managerial experience in financial/accounting within a Critical Access Hospital environment is essential.
  • Proven success in Revenue Cycle management is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • A Master's degree and CPA certification are preferred.
