Nurse Educator and Clinical Leader

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse Instructor, you will play a critical role in educating and mentoring our nursing students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other instructors to prepare, administer, and grade examinations for the course, and participate in the preparation of final evaluations.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of student attendance and grades, and submit them in a timely manner.
- Assist in strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure the quality of our programs.
- Plan and implement orientation for new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities.
- Develop and implement teaching strategies that recognize the characteristics of adult learners.
- Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction.
- Utilize online activities to enhance course content and materials during interactive teaching and learning.
- Maintain student records of attendance, skills check-off forms, and assist with program data collection.
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
- Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
- Participate in committee activities that support the mission and function of the nursing program.
- Attend faculty meetings.
- Plan and supervise student clinical experience in assigned healthcare facilities.
- Evaluate student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes, in accordance with policies and procedures established by Unitek College, Department of Nursing.
- Provide immediate feedback of clinical performance or specific events after observation.
- Assist in maintaining student records of clinical attendance, skills check-off forms, and assist with program data collection.
- Ensure that clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs.
- Determine the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
- Determine if clinical facilities meet all health and safety requirements for Unitek College students to attend clinicals.
- Provide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling of office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
- Participate in student advising activities.
Qualifications
- No prior teaching experience is required, as our Faculty Development training program will provide the necessary tools for success.
- Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
- Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university, including coursework in nursing or education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
- At least four years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- One year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care), and being clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
- Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing: Pediatrics or OB-Gyn.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $ $ per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, starting on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.
