POSITION SUMMARY

The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as adhering to established organizational policies and procedures. This position is essential in delivering high-quality food services consistently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare a variety of dishes, including entrees, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and other menu selections using established recipes.
  • Collaborate daily with the Director of Nutrition Services to strategize production and uphold quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of daily food production.
  • Operate cash register or point-of-sale systems during service periods as necessary.
  • Accurately document and report quantities used, production amounts, leftovers, and meal counts.
  • Ensure proper portion sizes are served in accordance with local and state regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the day, adhering to sanitation standards.
  • Assist in the proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food products in storage areas.
  • Support the Director in inventory management by accurately counting food and supplies.
  • Participate in the preparation and service of food for special events as required.
  • Engage in training and development sessions as mandated by the Director of Nutrition Services or Executive Chef.
  • Facilitate cross-training of team members as needed.
  • Follow established safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Ensure consistent and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in Basic English for job functions.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to handle cash transactions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food handling, preparation, and safety standards.
  • Food Handler's Permit and Serve Safe Certification are required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adhere to established policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, typically 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Competence in using standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
