Job Title: Energy Efficiency Specialist

About the Role:

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in energy auditing and quality control inspections, with experience in multifamily projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting building energy audits, assessing energy performance, and identifying cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct building energy audits to determine cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades for multifamily buildings.
  • Assess energy performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with equipment vendors and installers to ensure solutions meet customer and program requirements.
  • Perform quality control inspections for energy efficiency projects.
  • Advise construction staff on building inspection requirements and guide decisions on exceptional circumstances.
  • Review multifamily building inspections to ensure they meet program, customer, and ICAST requirements.
  • Maintain accurate reporting for assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • 3 years' experience in energy auditing with some experience in multifamily projects.
  • 3 years' experience performing quality control inspections with some experience in multifamily projects.
  • BPI Multifamily Building Analyst Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BPI MF Energy Auditor Certification.
  • Weatherization program QCI Certification.
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Firm understanding of HVAC systems in buildings, especially multifamily.
  • Understanding of Healthy Homes assessments.
  • Strong skills in communication, documentation, and attention to detail.

Location: Houston, TX & Western Region

Travel: Travel required (30%)

Reports to: QA/QC Manager

Skill Level: Intermediate

Education: Building Performance Institute Certifications: Energy Auditor, Quality Control Inspector, Multifamily Building Analyst. WAP certifications as auditor and QCI.

Areas of Expertise: Building Energy Auditing, Quality Control Inspections, Weatherization Assistance Program

Compensation: $65K DOE
