Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Excellence Coordinator to join our team at UNC Health. This role plays a vital part in coordinating VAD care for pediatric and adult patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the VAD program administrator to develop and implement short-term, intermediate, and long-range plans for the VAD program.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement by participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of CQI efforts focused on maximizing patient survival and quality of life.
  • Educate patients and their families about the VAD process and provide support throughout each phase of care.
  • Coordinate clinical, psychosocial, and financial needs of VAD patients, ensuring timely discharge and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance through documentation in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Three years of professional nursing experience, including two years in VAD or transplant, critical care, or disease-specific areas.
