Project Engineer

About Our Company

Our client is a top general contractor with a strong focus on healthcare, light industrial and tenant interiors construction projects. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead multiple projects across the Detroit area.

Responsibilities
  • Contacting subcontractors and vendors during the bid process
  • Developing project scope of work
  • Implementing project plans and activities
  • Managing documents and logging, including safety documentation, submittals, drawing logs, RFIs, transmittals, close out documents, meeting minutes
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and superintendents
  • Traveling to job sites as required by the PM and/or superintendents
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to manage administrative construction duties, including document control
  • Preparation of submittal schedules for approval and distribution
  • Assistance with change orders, subcontractor scheduling and invoicing, reviewing monthly job costs
  • Assistance with RFI reports, QA/QC documentation, and construction field operations
  • Participation in preconstruction tasks, including estimating and quantification
  • Collection and logging of closeout documents and punch lists
