Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Director to join our team at Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront. As a key member of our food and beverage management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of cooks, stewards, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and high-quality food production.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our guests and align with our brand standards.
  • Conduct daily kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and supplies to minimize waste and optimize costs.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other department heads to ensure seamless execution of events and functions.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff to improve their skills and knowledge, and to promote a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, and ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of and adhere to our labor policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are trained in safety standards and protocols, and that the kitchen is maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of cooking experience, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a kitchen.
  • High school graduate, college degree a plus.
  • Culinary school graduate a plus.
  • Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Experience with menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management.
