Case Manager

At Porchlight, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Case Manager to join our team. As a Case Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and active residents at our Brooks Street location.
Your key responsibilities will include working with office staff to manage the Brooks Street waiting list, meeting with prospective residents to begin the application process, and collecting and maintaining necessary information for grant funding.
You will work closely with our Peer Specialist to assist clients with various applications and appointments, resident requests, and conflict resolution. Additionally, you will collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure timely completion of resident work orders.
As a Case Manager, you will also serve as a backup to the Office Coordinator, handling tasks such as answering phone calls, assisting visitors, distributing mail, and collecting rents.
Key qualifications for this role include the ability to work in a high-paced environment, strong organizational and filing skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated success in obtaining willing cooperation from others.
- Communicate effectively with Housing Staff to complete necessary follow-up from interactions;
- Typing case notes using Word;
- Schedule appointments with Brooks Street residents for the Director of Housing;
- Contact residents to complete necessary annual paperwork;
- Distribute communications to residents from staff;
- Maintain information on resident storage lockers;
- Update bulletin boards with information pertaining to training, housing, employment, and food pantries;
- Act as lead to resolve resident-to-resident conflict compassionately;
- Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Housing.
