Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to fulfill essential operational functions in support of our research and development or production teams. This role is available for both full-time and part-time candidates. The ideal applicant will be a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficiency of the facility and uphold workplace safety standards.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance strategies, procedures, and methodologies for equipment.
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues through effective troubleshooting.
  • Support the upkeep of all building systems and surrounding grounds.
  • Comply with established safety protocols and engage in company safety initiatives.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive maintenance documentation.
  • Complete tasks punctually as a proactive individual, adhering to all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job plans.
  • Help maintain an organized inventory of spare parts for equipment and systems.
  • Ensure a tidy work environment and assist in the cleaning of equipment as necessary.
  • Provide support to external contractors as needed for various projects.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge Required:

  • Understanding of safe work practices.
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage.

  • Familiarity with processes, systems, and resources.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required Abilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.

  • Execute a variety of routine maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
  • Operate assigned equipment, utilities, and HVAC systems according to established guidelines.
  • Conduct intermediate troubleshooting of utility, process, and HVAC-related systems.
  • Experience in light mechanical and electrical assembly, as well as equipment maintenance.
  • Provide foundational support for the commissioning of new equipment to ensure compliance with mechanical design specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
  • Experience in a regulated operational environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret process system manuals, plumbing plans, architectural drawings, HVAC schematics, and process P&IDs.
  • A minimum of five years of combined education, training, and experience in Utility Operations/Maintenance, Process Equipment Maintenance, Control Systems, HVAC Operations/Maintenance, or Fire Systems Maintenance.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in PLC system troubleshooting.
  • Completion of technical training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
  • Experience in repairing electronics or instrumentation.
