Job Summary:

This part-time position will provide support to the Project Manager in promoting and implementing community outreach for local and governmental agencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending and coordinating business and community meetings, maintaining tools to assess the effectiveness of outreach methods, and participating in community outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in promoting and implementing community outreach for local and governmental agencies.
  • Attend and coordinate business and community meetings regarding construction activities, its impacts and intended mitigations.
  • Maintain tools to systematically assess the effectiveness of outreach methods and strategies.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in community outreach activities to educate the broader community about construction activities and projects.
  • Canvass homes and businesses to share important project information.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in community relations, public affairs, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Fluency in oral and written communications in English is required.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The associate is regularly required to sit for up to 6 to 8 hours per day. The associate frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feet. Repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use. The associate is occasionally required to stand. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Frequently use safety equipment such as a hard hat and safety vest. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and can work weekends as well as Fridays and Mondays.
