PCA Skills Trainer

The Northeast Independent Living Program Inc is seeking a skilled PCA Skills Trainer to join our team. As a PCA Skills Trainer, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in our Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide information, orientation, and determine basic eligibility to individuals with disabilities seeking Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Services through the Medicaid Personal Care Attendant Program
- Conduct initial assessments with consumers in their residential settings to determine their level of ability to manage their program
- Respond to consumer inquiries and questions in a timely manner
- Document consumer visits and contact notes in the program's database system
- Assist consumers in completing paperwork necessary to manage and hire their personal care attendants
- Maintain consumer case files and monitor a consumer's ability to manage their personal care program on an ongoing basis
- Troubleshoot issues with consumer programs, including peer support, skills training, advocacy, and information and referral
- Maintain a working relationship between the PCA Program and Fiscal Intermediary (FI)
Requirements:
- An Associate's Degree in a human service or relevant concentration, or equivalent experience
- At least one year of experience in providing services to individuals with disabilities
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and database management
- Experience working in or involved with the disability community
