**Job Title:** Communication Disorder Therapist
We are seeking a highly skilled therapist to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. As a vital member of our staff, you will play a key role in providing support to students with communication disorders.
About the Role:
This position involves conducting hearing screenings, evaluating and diagnosing children with speech and language disorders, and developing strategies to improve student communication skills. You will also work closely with general education teachers and other special education teachers to provide consultative services and develop effective instructional plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hearing screenings and evaluate children's auditory skills
- Develop strategies to improve student communication skills
- Work closely with general education teachers and other special education teachers to provide consultative services
- Develop effective instructional plans to meet the needs of students with communication disorders
Requirements:
- State certification as determined by the Alabama State Department of Education and the American Speech and Language Association
- Demonstrated aptitude/skill for job performance responsibilities
- Must meet suitability criteria for employment under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457
Salary: The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
