Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Tech - Medical (ASCP) to join our team at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the effective coordination and supervision of all functions in the assigned laboratory section or on the assigned shift.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise laboratory functions, including scheduling, training, budgeting, and quality control monitoring.
  • Oversee the maintenance of policies and procedures, proficiency testing, and integration of the assigned section or shift into the overall functioning of the Department and Northwest Texas Healthcare System.
  • Provide supervisory and technical expertise in the area of assigned responsibility, adhering to accepted laboratory standards of practice.
  • Participate in maintenance and safety programs, and support a process to measure, assess, and improve performance in the area of assigned responsibility.
  • Exhibit effective leadership skills in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related science.
  • Five years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Certification Agency (NCA) certification.
  • Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the undergraduate or graduate level.

  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Ability to speak and hear, and effectively communicate with employees, physicians, and others.
  • Ability to follow instructions, reason, and make appropriate judgments.
  • Ability to perform computer functions accurately and quickly.
