Job Title: Instructional Assistant

Job Summary:

As an Instructional Assistant, you will provide critical support to our teaching staff in delivering high-quality educational experiences to our students. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and contribute to a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional support to students under the direction of a certified teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
  • Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays, ensuring a well-organized and engaging learning environment.
  • Support the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments, helping to ensure accurate and timely feedback to students.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, contributing to a positive and productive learning space.
  • Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring that resources are available and in good working order.
  • Support teachers in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports, helping to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing disruption to students.
Student Management:
  • Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
  • Maintain awareness of special needs or problems of individual students, communicating effectively with teachers and other support staff.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Attend faculty meetings and special events as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Requirements:
  • 48+ earned college credits, associate's degree, bachelor's, and/or master's degree from a U.S. Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (preferred).
  • OR high school diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Desirable Qualities:
  • Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
