About the Role- We're seeking a skilled engineer to join our Animation R&D team, focusing on advanced animation systems for massive open-world character-based games.
- The ideal candidate will have strong C++ programming skills, a good understanding of character animation systems, and a passion for realistic, high-quality character motion.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar's NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
Main Responsibilities- Help develop, expand, maintain, and support a comprehensive runtime animation system, pipeline, and tools.
- Design robust and performant technology to adapt animation to diverse characters, situations, and environments.
- Collaborate on the research and development of features related to procedural animation, motion adaptation, and character motion synthesis.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest academic and industry breakthroughs, independently researching and developing improvements to continuously advance our technology.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven development of solutions in animation retargeting, motion adaptation, or related subjects.
- Experience creating, extending, or working directly with an animation system within a game engine.
We offer a competitive salary range of $121,400-$161,800 USD per year, depending on individualized factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This figure may vary further based on market considerations. In addition to a base salary, the total compensation package may include bonus and/or equity awards, along with a range of medical, financial, and other benefits. Please note that this is an 'at-will' position, and base salary may be modified at any time, including due to individual performance, company performance, or market factors.
