Position Overview:

Battery Chemistry Specialist

Location: Cupertino, CA

We are seeking a skilled professional in the Battery and Custom Silicon group, responsible for overseeing battery chemistry and materials qualification assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for a variety of chemical evaluations.
  • Conduct measurements in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Meticulously document test outcomes and perform preliminary data analysis.
  • Assist in the documentation of SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to facilitate battery development initiatives.
  • Regularly communicate progress updates.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in executing intricate, detailed testing protocols with minimal guidance from engineers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with basic metrology instruments, such as analytical balances.
  • Knowledge of proper laboratory safety and cleanliness practices.
  • Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Experience with both Mac OS X and Windows OS.
  • Familiarity with operating various analytical equipment, including SEM, ion milling, TGA, BET, and XRD, along with equipment maintenance and sample preparation.
  • Capable of performing routine cell assembly tasks and material preparation.
  • Experience in backend operations, including assembly, welding/soldering, and pouching.
  • Ability to conduct UV laser Design of Experiments (DOEs) and troubleshoot initial tool issues during second shift operations, supporting engineering development for backend cell assembly.
  • Experience in tape casting operations.
