Job Title: Sr. Engineer

At PBF Energy, we are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability of our refinery analyzers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate refinery-wide efforts to identify and implement reliability improvements for analyzer equipment.
  • Act as an equipment specialist to improve analyzer equipment class and provide expertise on application and interpretation of company and industry standards.
  • Proactively seek reliability improvements to increase plant equipment uptime.
  • Specify and order parts, materials, and equipment, and facilitate outside repairs.
  • Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel.
  • Track, evaluate, and report refinery key performance indicators for the analyzer class and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Write instructions and procedures for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining analyzers under the guidance of a more experienced analyzer engineer.
  • Collaborate with Instrument Techs to provide assistance for troubleshooting and repairs to analyzers.
  • Be available outside of normal working hours to direct troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Provide equipment failure analysis reports and support as needed for equipment failures.
  • Follow refinery safety procedures and assist with developing safe work practices for analyzers.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the oil and gas or chemical industries supporting instrumentation in a plant environment.
  • Strategic and creative thinking abilities.
  • Interactive skills necessary for teamwork building.
  • Good judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer skills needed for communications and analysis.
  • Knowledge of analyzers: CEMS, Gas Chromatography, Spectroscopy, and sample system design.
  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI systems, DCS systems, data acquisition systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards: NEC, NFPA, API, and ISA.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, manage short deadlines, and emergency situations.
